Onion harvest

On the three demonstration sites the onions were just harvested. And what a result! Instead of 8 tons/ha previously, the demonstration plot yielded 21 tons/ha. Drip irrigation, the variety, and dedication from the owner resulted in this success. This is inspiring for neighbouring farmers. Still, there is a lot of room for further improvement. We noticed that post-harvest practices were deficient (cutting the neck too far, and selling directly to first buyer). The trainers emphasized and encouraged the farmer to address this too, ensuring that the higher yields are also translated int higher prices per kg.
